Camas Montessori School
While our program consists of children aged 2 1/2 to 5 years old, we encourage families to start their child’s Montessori education at age 3.
At 3, children are usually more developmentally prepared to be in a classroom setting and take direction from someone other than a parent or guardian.
We do not encourage waiting until your child is 4 because there are key lessons for each year of our three year curriculum.
In order to see the full effect of a primary Montessori education, it is important for your child to stay with their same teacher and class community for the entire duration of their enrollment.
This allows your child to absorb and observe their world at age three, develop and refine motor skills and classify their knowledge around age four, and finally to practice what they’ve learned and reach abstraction, independence, and confidence around age five.
Remaining with the same teacher allows time for the teacher to develop a comfortable and safe relationship with your child, as well as the opportunity to be fully aware of your child’s strengths, weaknesses and interests; knowing what your child needs to work on next to further their independence and love of learning.
We offer full-day and half-day programs. Children under 5 are required to rest in the afternoon if staying full day. Our afternoon is focused on Kindergarten time, children 5 years and older.
When filling a classroom, we fill according to what space is available. We aim to create an equivalent balance of boys and girls in each classroom and ages. (⅓ 3’s, ⅓ 4’s, ⅓ 5’s)

Open House occurs on the last Wednesday of January beginning at 4pm.

Any child who turns five before Aug. 31st is considered as starting their “completion” or Kindergarten year. These children MUST attend full days, 5 days a week.

**Tuition is based annually and then divided into equal monthly payments and must be paid in advance by the 30th of the month.
The one-time application fee must be included with the application form.
The reservation fee is required annually to hold a place for your child at Camas Montessori.
