
| Hello from the Butterfly room. January has been a great month. We have a new child in our room his name is Jason Li. He will be 4 years old in March. Welcome Jason!!!! We are looking forward to the open house on February 2nd. This will be a time for you to the visit our classroom with your child and let them show you around. I hope to see all of you at the Auction. We have several classroom items, a toy box, recipe books and a ceramic platter. Our classroom is busy as always with a variety of different work going on. Abigail spends a great deal of time in the practical. She likes pouring, polishing, scooping, scrubbing, hand washing, button frames and stringing. She also had a new lesson on sorting. Aby had a new lesson on the dot game. She also had a lesson on division with the stamp game. Aby works often in the language area with compound words, opposites, and moveable alphabet. Deven continues to enjoy the practical life area. He likes to water the plants, and scrub tables. He also likes working on his sounds. Elliot enjoys any work with water. She scrubs tables, chairs, underlays. She recently had a new lesson on land and water forms. Jenevieve enjoys watercolors, coloring, playdough, and puzzles. She also enjoys working with the living non-living cards. Justin has been working on numbers with cards and counters. He and Kennedy also have done the hundred board together. Justin is also doing a bit of writing with the parts of booklets. Kaylah has been very engaged in reading and is working on moveable alphabet almost daily. Kennedy is word building with the moveable alphabet. She has also done the hundred board with Justin. Noah has been working on multiplication with the bead bars. He also had a lesson on division using the golden beads and stamp game. Joe has been doing addition with the stamp game. He has also started reading in our reading books. Lily has started in the readers. She has been doing a lot of research and writing using the moveable alphabet. Sage likes the practical life area. He still enjoys scrubbing and polishing. He also likes working in the sensorial area with the stairs and tower and combining other sensorial activities together. Jason has had many lessons some of them are, stringing, stairs, tower, watercolors, easel painting, nuts and bolts, and cylinder blocks. Henry has been working on his numbers with the spindle boxes. He has also been working on sound with the picture sound cards. He likes tracing shapes with the metal insets and scrubbing or polishing in the practical life area Lola paints daily with watercolors or on the easel. She is always eager to do our new craft projects. She has also been working on her sounds with the I spy game. Olivia works with the mystery bag everyday. She also spends a great deal of time in the practical life area, scooping, pouring. She has a strong desire to be a helper. Naomi likes our new scooping work, she also enjoys, hand washing, pouring, tongs and painting. Raphael has started with long vowels in our reading books. He is also skip counting with the chains. Tristan reads often he also enjoys building words with the moveable alphabet. He had a new lesson on addition using the stamp game and subtraction with the golden beads. Vanessa has been working on the hundred board. She has also been reading using the vowel cards. We will be having a Valentines party. I will send out a separate letter with names and details.
