| ENROLLMENT Enrollment Form We encourage parents to start their child's Montessori education at age 2 1/2 or 3 because there are certain key lessons that they are usually not interested in at age 4. In order to see the full effects of a primary Montessori education, it is also important for your child to stay with his or her same teacher and class through the end of their Kindergarten year. This allows your child the chance to absorb and observe their world at age three, develop and refine motor skills and classify their knowledge around age four, and finally to practice what they've learned and reach abstraction, independence, and confidence around age five. We accept fullday and halfday students. When filling a classroom, we fill according to what space is available. For example, does one classroom have an abundance of four-year-olds and not enough younger children? Is there a good balance of boys vs. girls in a classroom? We try to balance each classroom by gender and age. Our enrollment policy is as follows: Current students and their 3 year old siblings are given first priority. Children with previous Montessori experiences will be considered for enrollment in one of our three classrooms, based on the balance of age groupings, gender and space availability in the full and half day programs. All other children will also be considered for enrollment based on balancing genders, ages and programs. All families must enroll their child through the end of their Kindergarten year. We are not just a PRESCHOOL, but a PRESCHOOL/KINDERGARTEN. Those parents who withdraw their older child before their Kindergarten year might not be able to have their siblings considered for possible openings. (This is to ensure the three-year curriculum is offered to those families who are dedicated to following the Montessori philosophy). IF THERE IS A WAITING LIST.... CAMAS MONTESSORI SCHOOL 2010/2011 FEE SCHEDULE APPLICATION FEE: $80.00 non-refundable RESERVATION FEE: $150 each year. Total paid refundable during last month of child's Kindergarten year. TUITION: half day 8:30 ~ 11:30am (preschool age only) 12:00 ~ 3:00 (four and a half year olds only) $435.00/month (11 month pay schedule: August-June) $478.00/month (10 month pay schedule: August-May) 5% discount for tuition paid in full by August 10th. TUITION: full day 8:30 ~ 3:00pm (Kindergarten or Preschool) $600.00/month (11 month pay schedule: August -June) $660.00/month (10 month pay schedule: August -May) Kindergarten children (those who turn five before Sept. 1) MUST attend fulldays. 5% discount for tuition paid in full by August 10th. EXTENDED CARE: 7:00 ~ 8:15am or 3:00 ~ 4:00pm $100.00/month (10 month pay schedule) 3:00 ~ 5:30pm $225.00/month (10 month pay schedule) OCCASIONAL CARE: $6.00/hour; $3.00/half hour *Available to students on a prearranged basis **Tuition is based annually and then divided into equal monthly payments and must be paid in advance by the tenth of the month. The application fee must be included with the application form and the reservation fee is also required to hold a place for your child at Camas Montessori. Parents may choose to spread their annual tuition into eleven monthly payments or ten monthly payments. The children attend school from September through mid-June no matter the monthly payment plan. All payments begin in August and end in either May or June. Summer school is usually offered from mid June through the month of July. Themes and costs are determined in April. |
